George II Young Head Halfpenny Near Very Fine

George II (1683–1760) was King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1727 to 1760. The last British monarch born outside England, he defended his throne in the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. His reign saw the expansion of the British Empire, military victories, and growing parliamentary power before his death. Halfpennies were a popular denomination of the time and feature the ‘Young Head’ (1727-1739) and the ‘Old Head’ (1740-1754).
