The Gallienus Antoninianus with a Victory reverse highlights the emperor’s military successes and his role as protector of the empire during the Crisis of the Third Century (253–268 AD). The obverse features Gallienus’s radiate bust, symbolizing his divine authority. The reverse depicts Victory, the goddess of triumph, often shown standing or walking, holding a wreath and palm branch, symbols of military conquest and peace. Inscriptions like “VICTORIA AVG” celebrate the emperor’s victories against external threats or rebellious factions. These coins served as propaganda, promoting Gallienus’s strength and resilience in defending the empire amidst political turmoil and constant invasions. We have a small group of these Antoniniani coming in “Good Very fine” grade. PLEASE NOTE: PHOTOGRAPHY IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE COIN SUPPLIED
