During World War Two, the Government was worried about the Mint being bombed by the enemy. So they tried making coins at another location and that location was the famous Pinewood Movie Studios. In fact they only made one coin there, the George VI brass threepence of 1944. It is a wonderful story of our coinage history that only the 1944 brass threepence was made at Pinewood Studios. In circulated condition it is quite common but scarcer the higher the grade of the coin. We are offering the scarcer Brilliant Uncirculated.
