Florins of Edward VII
divider
The Florin, or two shillings, of Edward VII is well known for its beautiful design by the engraver George William de Saulles. The reverse features an imposing depiction of Britannia, standing on the bow of a ship, holding a trident in her right hand and shield bearing the Union flag in the left. Unfortunately, this was a short-lived design, perhaps because the date was the first part of the design to wear out. As with many denominations of Edward VII’s coins, mintages were relatively low after the Coronation year of 1902. We are pleased to offer you these fabulous sterling silver fl orins, by date, including the Scarce 1903 and 1904. Make the most of this opportunity to add any missing dates to your Edward VII Florin collection.
