Elizabeth II, £5 (Prince Philip) 2021 Silver Proof

When the Queen’s husband the H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh died in 2021 the Royal Mint issued a rather handsome commemorative coin to honour him. It is a beautiful low-mintage coin with only a maximum of 7,255 silver-proof coins made. For some reason, we and most other dealers were not offered this important coin. In fact, these are the first pieces we have ever owned. It is entitled ‘A Life Well Lived’ and that is something we can all agree on. You have the Queen on one side and the Duke of Edinburgh on the other side. The coin comes complete in original Royal Mint packaging, with a case, slipcase, certificate, and information leaflet. We don’t know why they were not offered at the time, We guess one or more of the marketing companies bought them all.
