This week's glossary term is the "Decimalization". In 1971 the British monetary system was finally changed to one based on tens or decimals. The Pounds, Shillings and Pence or `LSD' system (Libra, Solidus, Denarius) was withdrawn and a new system of `New Pence' introduced. The pound was no longer divided into twenty shillings or 240d, but into 100p.
