The Czech Republic came into being in 1992 when it formally split with Slovakia and the country we previously knew as Czechoslovakia was dissolved. In the early days, banknotes from the old Czechoslovakia were used with a revalidation stamp adhered to them to denote they belonged to the new country. Eventually, in 1993, notes in the name of the Czech Republic were issued. This 100 korun note issued in 1992 is actually dated 1961.(P1) A factory worker and female farmer appear to the right with a factory and smokestacks in the background on the front with a view of the Castle District and the Charles Bridge on the back, Crisp Uncirculated.
