We are very excited to be able to offer you more treasure coins from the Messing Hoard - a Civil War Hoard discovered in the village of Messing, Essex in 1975. The hoard was probably buried at the beginning of the Civil War in 1642. The hoard was declared as Treasure Trove back in 1975 and much of it hasn’t seen the light of day – until we offered the some of the shillings in the last two issues. In this edition of The Phoenix, we have some equally impressive Halfcrowns from the Messing Hoard. They are very lustrous and the higher the grade, the more detail you have on the King. We’re delighted to offer Halfcrowns issued in 1639-40. They are all Tower Mint, Type 3a2 with rough ground beneath the horse in 3 fabulous grades, make the most of this great opportunity to add a fantastic 390 year old Silver Halfcrown from the Civil War to your collection.
