United States of America, Buffalo Nickel, 1913 - 1938. In circulated condition.

US Buffalo Nickel, 1913. In circulated condition. First struck in 1913 and now 104 years old, this popular design was part of an attempt to make the US coinage more attractive. This five Cent coin features the head of a Native Indian on one side and an American Bison on the reverse. They quickly proved popular with the American public and despite concerns about how quickly the coins became worn in circulation, continued to be minted until 1938 when they were replaced by the Jefferson Nickel. All coins have a full date. Most coins are dated in the 1930’s. Dates of our choice.

United States of America, 1997 Mini Set of 3 coins

In 1997 the Royal Mint and the United States Mint got together and both issued Mint Sets to their collectors. We don’t know exactly what happened, but… The Royal Mint sold their left over American Mint Sets to a foreign exchange trader on condition that they break them up. Not to sell them as Mint Sets but just as regular coins. We ended up buying 250 each of the 1997 United States 5 Cents (Jefferson), 25 Cents (Washington) and 50 Cents (Kennedy). We have always felt that they are better struck than the usual circulation coins. But they said no, well they are the best struck coins that we have seen, that were not proofs. Now many years later, We are going to give up trying to prove something we still believe in. So we are selling a mini set of 1995 5c, 25c & 50c as Choice Brilliant Uncirculated coins. They are nice and at £3.95 for the three coins, sold at a very reasonable price...
