British Caribbean Territories 1 Dollar 1963 Eliz II. P7c EF

We were delighted to recently buy a small group of British Caribbean 1 Dollars dated 1963 and featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.(P7c) These were the currency of the Leeward Islands, British Guiana, Barbados and the Windward Islands. Introduced under George VI in 1949, they lasted until 1964 when they were discontinued and replaced by East Caribbean Bank issues. These usually turn up quite scruffy but we were delighted when we were offered this group .They have seen no circulation but because these ‘new’ notes were kept folded in an envelope over the years, they should be graded a pleasing Crisp EF, far better than we usually see. A chance to include an early Elizabeth East Caribbean note in your collection.
