Bank Token

Issued by the Bank of England between 1811 and 1816, they were struck in silver with denominations of (a) one shilling and sixpence and (b) three shillings. The Bank's name does not appear on the coins, just the legend `Bank Token'. There is also a pattern ninepence token known. From the condition of many of these Bank Tokens they saw considerable circulation.
