In 1986, for the first time, the Royal Mint issued a £2 coin that was NOT struck in gold. These new coins were struck in nickel-brass, a heavy base metal that looks like Tomback. Later in 1997 they replaced it with a thinner, smaller bi-metallic £2 coin. We have four of the more impressive first type £2 commemorative coins on offer in uncirculated condition, supplies are limited.
