We have two new off erings of tokens for you this issue, both are sets of aluminium National Transport Tokens from the 1980’s, one depicting the modes of transport they were used on and the other with just the values of the tokens. These were used instead of regular currency when paying for public transport and were often purchased in bulk by local authorities or welfare organisations to off er concessionary fare tokens to certain groups of people such as children or the elderly and could be used on most public transport services. Before the scheme closed, tokens were available in denominations of 2p, 3p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1. Here we off er one set of four 20 pence tokens depicting a Tramcar from 1903, a Daimler CVD6 Bus from 1949, a Class 508 Train from 1980 and a Metrocar from 1981. The other set consists of three more basic National Transport Tokens of 3p, 5p and 10p denominations. Buy both sets together to save a little.
