Elizabeth II, £2 Britannia 2023 BU

For some reason the Royal Mint is issuing the 2023 Silver Britannia with the Queen’s portrait on them! IWe were wrong when we said that the 2022 would be the last Queen Elizabeth II issue. My guess is they were struck before she died, we also understand that a King Charles Silver Britannia will be struck later in the year. But surprise, surprise not only was the 2023 Silver Britannia struck with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, but we have them in stock ready to be sent out now! We have Choice Brilliant Uncirculated Early Strike examples in stock and ready to sell them to you today. Don’t ask how we got them but Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop has them first and ready for your collection. They may cut off production shortly and this could be a key coin, then again they may not. But we have them now in 2022 although the coins are dated 2023. Get them while you can and while we still have them for sale.

George III, 1813 Military Guinea Paperweight_obv

George III, 1813 Military Guinea Paperweight

In 1813 they struck the last Guinea ever, it was shortly to be replaced by the Sovereign. They were struck to pay English troops advancing into France and thus called The Military Guinea. This is a beautiful Proof rendition of that last ever ‘Military’ Guinea of 1813. You have the bust of King George III on the obverse wearing a laurel wreath the reverse has a crowned coat of arms. It has been gold plated and comes in a protective capsule. This is the first time that we have been able to offer these large paperweights. They were made years ago and ‘lost’ in our friend’s warehouse until now. They will never be made again and we think they are fantastic.

George III, Cartwheel Twopence Paperweight_obv

George III, Cartwheel Twopence Paperweight

We have not had any of these huge King George III 1797 Cartwheel Twopence paperweights for years. They are huge, 12cm / 5 inches in diameter, and are struck in Proof copper. They come in a capsule and are heavy which is what you want from a paperweight. They will look great on your desk, at home or at work. When we originally had them, they sold out quickly. Our supplier told us that if he had to make them today, we would have to charge £79.50 for them! But as many of you know, Richard never lets what a supplier says stop him. He bought them all, so the supplier gave us a good deal! They make fantastic presents, especially at our original price of just £49.50! Get them while you can, once they are gone there will not be any more made, especially at our price of just £49.50 each for these Proof beauties.

Persia, Silver 1/8 Qirans (Krans), AH1271-Ah1342 (1854-1924)_obv

Persia, Silver 1/8 Qirans (Krans), AH1271-Ah1342 (1854-1924) - New Year Gift!

We bought part of a hoard of choice Persian Silver coins, they are 1/8 Qirans but better known as ‘Shahi-e-safid’ or ‘White Sahi’ to distinguish them from the copper Sahis. They were struck not for circulation but to be given as gifts as an expression of friendship and good luck for the ‘Now Ruz’ New Year celebrations. They are beautiful little silver coins and in choice condition, struck between 1854-1924 when they stopped minting them so they are also about 100 years old or more but in almost perfect condition. Why not buy a few of these unusual coins to give out to friends at New Year's for something a bit different? They are priced at a level that we think you will appreciate and won’t hurt too much to be given away as gifts!
