William IV, Farthing Fine

King William IV, also known as the Sailor King, only ruled from 1830-1837. The smallest coin that was regularly issued for circulation was the copper farthing and that was issued for only five years. It is a lot more difficult to get than many collectors and dealers realise. Here we offer King William IV's Farthing in Fine condition. You have the bare head of the King on the obverse and a seated Britannia on the reverse. We are selling them by type, but the more you order the more different dates we will try and send you. They are almost two hundred years old and this Monarch did not rule for long.

William IV Halfcrown Fine_obv

William IV, Halfcrown Fine

In the short reign of King William IV only one crown was issued and that could cost you up to £40,000. The next largest silver coin was the Halfcrown which was struck for circulation for only four years. It is a rather handsome coin with the bare head of the King facing right and the reverse is the Royal Coat of Arms draped and crowned. It was issued for a very short time and was the largest silver denomination issued at the time. Not an easy coin to find these days but we have some available in both Very Good and Fine condition. This is one type coin that we feel is underappreciated and thus undervalued. This a Very Important type coin, for your collection.

William IV, Halfpenny Very Good

In the short reign of King William IV two of the smallest copper denominations struck were the Farthing and the Halfpenny. They have the King’s bust on the obverse and a seated Britannia holding a trident on the reverse. Remember these coins are struck in thick copper not the later thin bronze of Queen Victoria. We are offering the Halfpenny in Very Good. Dates are of our choice but the more coins you order the more different dates we will try and give you. The Halfpenny was struck for 3 years, the coin on offer here is in Very Good.
