Victoria, Halfcrown (Jubilee Head) Fine

It has been quite some time since we were last able to offer you the complete date set of King Edward VII Pennies. To be honest, there just are not all that many around to make up collections. They were saved by a friend, who took the time to sort the hoard of Edward VII Pennies that he had accumulated over 20 years by date. Then he made complete date collections for us. Not only did he make date collections, but at a price that allows us to offer them to you at a special price. You get one of each date of King Edward VII Penny struck from 1902-1910. That means, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909 and 1910. Every coin is over 100 years old and while circulated, they are still in very reasonable condition. You get all 9 different dates, which normally would sell for £24.50 as individual coins.

Queen Victoria came to the throne in 1837 and in 1838 they issued her first coinage. Because she was so young when she became Queen, this new coinage became known as Young Head Coins. In 1887 when she celebrated her Gold Jubilee, she finally allowed her portrait to be changed on the coins, this new portrait became known as the Jubilee Head Coinage. It only lasted from 1887 until 1892 when it was again changed. We have spent years accumulating enough 1887 Jubilee Head coins in high grades to offer them to you. All are struck in Sterling Silver and all are dated 1887 the first year of this new coinage. For years collectors have assumed that these coins are common. But in fact in the higher grades these coins have become very difficult to find. Prices while they have risen are still very affordable, especially when you think that they are 131 years old. On offer here is a Victoria 1887 shilling in extremely fine grade.

In the early reign of King George V, the coins were struck in Sterling Silver 925 fine Silver. After 1920 the coins were struck in 500 fine silver. The largest Sterling Silver coin struck during the reign of King George V was the Halfcrown. They are in Fine or better condition.
