United States of America, 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar Extremely Fine

Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful coins ever struck. It was struck at the Austrian Mint from 1780 until now. The fact is they still strike them today with the 1780 date on them. They are large silver coins that contain about 3/4 of an ounce of pure silver and they are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. We have not had these for years, but a lucky buy has put them back into stock.

In 1992 the United States Mint honoured the 500th Anniversary of the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus. They issued a Dollar piece in Proof condition. You have the figure of Columbus as he landed on the Americas with his ships behind him, a rather striking design. The other side has his ship and the space shuttle Discovery. These are Choice Proof condition Dollars and they were issued more than 30 years ago in 1992. A beautiful coin and in choice condition, which we think will interest a lot of collectors.

In November 1963 President John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas. Most of us who are old enough to have been alive at the time remember exactly where we were when we first heard of the killing. US Mercury Silver Dime 1940-1945. We have just bought a hoard of United States Silver Mercury Dimes or 10 Cent pieces all dated 1940-1945. They are struck in 900 fine Silver and in Fine or better condition. The dealer selected them from lots that came in over the years. These World War II silver coins are one of the most beautiful coins that America has ever issued. Charles Barber was the Chief Engraver at the Philadelphia Mint in the United States. But he was also British and most collectors don’t know that. He designed many coins from the Dime (10c) to the Half Dollar. His coins circulated from 1892 to 1916, when the designs were replaced with others. We have always found that the smallest denomination, the Dime or 10 Cents is difficult to get hold of. The coins have the bust of Liberty on one side and the denomination on the other side. They are struck in 900 fine Silver and the coins on offer are in Very Good condition, especially considering that they are over 100 years old.
