United States of America, 50 cents (100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty) Proof

In 1986 the United States celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. What many people don’t realise is that it was a gift from the French people. This coin a Half Dollar or 50 Cents has a view of the Statue of Liberty with the sun rising on one side. The other side has immigrants on Ellis Island seeing America for the first time. The coin is in Proof condition and comes with a plastic capsule as issued by the United States Mint. A beautiful coin and one that generates great feelings from the many people who moved to America and this was the first thing that they saw.

Sudan, 1 Dinar 1994

We don’t often come across coins from Sudan, but we can now offer this brass 1 dinar coin from 1994. The dinar circulated between 1992 and 2007 and was significant in that it was one of the very few currencies that never had any official subdivision. The obverse of this rather plain coin depicts the Central Bank of Sudan Building, with the denomination and the Islamic year 1415, which corresponds to 1994 AD.
