UN FAO Bronze Medal for World Food Day 1994

Part of a series issued by the United Nations Food For All (FAO) organization in Rome. This medal marked World Food Day, 16 October 1994. The medal is 50mm in diameter and struck in high relief in bronze.

One one side you have the letters FAO ROME over a design depicting a parched landscape with blazing sun opposite a maize plant in the rain.

On the other side is a hand watering an ear of corn with the legend WORLD FOOD DAY 16 OCT. 1994 - WATER FOR LIF.

A handsome art medal designed by R. Susini and piece of modern sculpture in uncirculated condition.
