Bradbury Wilkinson was one of the foremost British security printers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The documents they were responsible for producing, be it bonds or banknotes, were distinguished by the quality of the designs and engraving. The notes printed and engraved by Bradbury Wilkinson for Spain in the 1920s and 1930s which came to us from an old group found in Barcelona, certainly showcases the engraver’s talents. We’re used to seeing these in circulated condition but our notes are all crisp, grading EF-Uncirculated.

Germany 50 Marks 1920 P68 AU/Unc

I’ve always liked this 50 mark note issued in Germany in 1920 and especially so when it is in choice condition. It is densely engraved with a framed illustration of a young girl with a rose garland in her hair and holding fruit on the front. The back depicts a farmer and scythe in one frame and an industrial worker with hammer in another (P68) Crisp AU/Uncirculated.
