Sovereign Scale

This is a scale to weigh gold sovereigns and half sovereigns. They were made ca 1848 or slightly later. You placed the gold coin in the hole and if the scale balanced then the coin was real. If it didn’t balance then you knew the coin was a fake. Very useful as a Gold Sovereign was a lot of money at the time. We have just three gold sovereign scales available at this time. We think they are fantastic and any sovereign collector can fancy up their collection with one. But only three pieces are available.
