Slovenia 1992 4 Coin Mint Set

This is a 1992, 26-year-old Mint Set in Uncirculated condition and the first year that coins were issued by this breakaway from the former Yugoslavia. The currency of Slovenia is quite strong and not easy to get. Each coin has a separate animal on the reverse. There is the 50 Stotinov with a bee, the 1 Tolar with a brown trout, the 2 Tolarja with a barn swallow, and the 5 Tolarev with an ibex head and horns. We believe that this is the first time that we have had this set to offer. We always like the first year of issue of any coinage and this is a new country with new coins.

Picture of Fiji Rugby 50 Cents 2016

Fiji Rugby 50 Cents 2016

In 2016 the Fiji rugby team won Gold in the Olympics. They issued a banknote, which we have offered before, but this is the first time that we have had the coin to offer. It is a 50 Cent coin with a man seated contemplating by the ocean with the arms of Fiji on one side. The other side the Fiji rugby team raising their hands in victory. The coins are about the size of a 50p coin and struck in Prooflike Uncirculated condition. If you are into rugby you just have to have this coin, no matter which team you support. After all how many coins are there celebrating the sport of rugby? Beautiful coins and worthy of any collection.

Picture of Spain, Pair of Spanish Civil War (25 Centavos) Coins

Spain, Pair of Spanish Civil War (25 Centavos) Coins

One of our dealers managed to get us two different 25 Centavo coins issued in Spain during their Civil War. One is dated 1927 and has a crown and a hammer on it. The second is dated 1934 and has Espana holding an olive branch. Both coins were struck with a hole in the middle and are in Very Fine condition. The Spanish Civil War, as are all civil wars, had a brother fighting brother. It was the Communists fighting the Fascists and in this case, the Fascists (with the help of Germany) came out on top. This pair of coins is getting increasingly difficult to find. We think they are fantastic but that they do represent a bloody and turbulent time in Spain’s history.

Picture of Sweden, 1984 Mint Set

Sweden, 1984 Mint Set

This set was made up by the Swedish Mint in 1984; it contains all six coins issued for circulation. But the coins are in Prooflike Uncirculated and far better than the normal coins would look like. The set comes in a blue and gold hard plastic case, showing both sides of the coins. The set contains the 5, 10, 25 & 50 Ore as well as the 1 & 5 Kronor coins all in Prooflike Uncirculated condition. The set is now 35 years old and I would guess not all that easy to find. The set is sealed by the Swedish Royal Mint.
