Portugal, 100 Escudos Azores Ship

This commemorative coin was issued in 1990 as part of the Discovery Series. It is a 100 Escudos coin, about halfcrown sized in Uncirculated condition. The reverse shows a stylised sailing ship and the subject is the discovery of the Azores Islands. Over the years it has toned a little, but we think that goes to show that they are authentic and meant to be used as money.
