Estonia, 5 Coin Set Before The Euro Brilliant Unc_obv

Estonia, 5 Coin Set Before The Euro Brilliant Unc

Estonia, while quite an old country, has not been issuing coins for all that long, really only since the breakup of the Russian group of countries. This is a five-coin set in the early 2000s. They are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and the denominations are 10, 20 (twice) & 50 Senti, and 1 Kroon. We have been to their capital Tallin a few times and it is a wonderful city. The old part of town has been rebuilt and is a great tourist attraction. Five coin sets of Brilliant Uncirculated Estonian coins.

George III, Cartwheel Twopence Very Good_obv

George III, Twopence (Cartwheel) Very Good

How do you know this is a twopence? We were asked this question the other day and the simple answer is, if it weighs two ounces then it is Twopence, if it weighs an ounce then it is a Penny. They were only issued for one year in 1797; the public hated them, because they weighed so much. This was one of the first coins to be struck under steam pressure on Boulton and Watts steam press. Because they are pure copper they nick and scratch very easily. You have the bust of King George III on one side and a seated Britannia on the other side. This coin is offered in Very Good condition. We give you the best example that we have in stock, but due to the softness of the metal, there will be some dings. A great talking piece and was only issued in 1797.

Guernsey, 8 Doubles 2011 Silver Proof_obv

Guernsey, 8 Doubles 2011 Silver Proof

We bought these some time ago and Steve just reminded me. They are a rendition of the Guernsey 8 Doubles, at that time Guernsey was the only place in the British Isles not to use the portrait of the Monarch. These are the first and only ones that we have seen or been offered. They are dated 2011 and read ‘1oz fine silver 9999’. They have the Guernsey coat of arms and are Proof condition. We have 30 pieces and don’t know where there are any more to be had.
