Medal from the Republic of Zaire

Bronze medal with ribbon.
Availability: In stock
SKU: OZR8811

You don’t see a lot of material from Zaire, and certainly not much in the line of medals. So we were naturally pleased to be able to purchase a small group to offer to you, our collectors.

They are Civilian Awards for Merit, in Bronze. The design feature a central Maltese Cross with broad bladed knives between the arms. Interestingly this design is based on similar Civil Merit awards issued when Zaire was a Belgian colony. On the reverses the legend: ‘Republique du Zaire – Merite Civic’ and twelve stars.

The ribbons are equal stripes of red and green with a central yellow gold stripe for the Bronze. A very interesting and colourful addition to your collection. Very limited number available, so please order early.

Burma Star, World War II Medal

Of the eight different campaign stars awarded during the Second World War two of the scarcer issues are the Pacific Star and the Burma Star. We are able to offer a small quantity of The Burma Star, which was awarded for operational service in the Burma campaign and in Bengal or Assam, broadly from 1941 to early 1944. We have just seven of these scarce campaign stars with the appropriate ribbon available, so don't miss out!
