A trio of notes issued by India and all bearing the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi (P-New) In 2016 the Indian Government announced, with almost no warning, that it was demonetising the 500 and 1000 rupees notes. This was the prelude to the introduction of a completely new series of notes. This set comprises three values – the 20, 50 and 100 rupees from this new series.
