In 2018 the Royal Mint issued two 50 Pence pieces to honour Paddington Bear. We have been able to buy both of these coins in Proof Sterling Silver. This one is Paddington Bear at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives. Paddington is in full colour waving a British flag in front of Buckingham Palace. It is stuck in Proof Sterling Silver and comes in a heavy and fully clear Perspex display case inside a yellow presentation box. We believe the issue price was £67.50. This lot was bought right and we are going to sell it right, just £49.50 that is a saving of £18.00 on the Royal Mint issue price. This handsome Sterling Silver Proof $10 was issued by the South Pacific island nation of Fiji to celebrate the late Queen Mother’s 100th birthday. It is most unusual in that although it is struck in Proof Sterling Silver, the outer rim has been gold plated to simulate a bi-metallic coin. You have the young Elizabeth and David playing with a cart in 1904 on one side and her Daughter Queen Elizabeth II on the other side.
