In 1977 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Silver Jubilee 1952-1977. The Royal Mint, as they did with her Grandfather, George V, issued a special silver commemorative crown or five shilling piece. It shows the Queen on horseback and was very popular with the public at the time. We believe that this was the height of public celebrations.
