Elizabeth II, £2 (Bank of England) 1994 Silver Piedfort

£2 Piedfort Proof (double the normal thickness of Sterling Silver Proof) coin commemorative of the 50th Anniversary of the End of World War II. The Dove of Peace on the reverse and Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Each coin comes in a protective capsule.

We found a small number of the 1953 Coronation Crown in Proof condition in stock. These had to come from Proof Sets as they didn’t issue the crown in proof as a single coin. We have heard of some crazy prices that are either being asked for this coin or even sold for. These coins are Proof and that is all we will say about them. Some have a sort of misty toning on them, we do not touch or clean them. They are Proof 1953 Coronation Crowns from a 1953 Proof Set.

There has been a lot of talk of late about schools and businesses that were connected at one time to slavery and the slave trade. We are proud to be able to offer this Sterling Silver Proof £2 issued by the Royal Mint to honour the 200th anniversary of the Act for the Abolition Slave Trade in Great Britain. You have the date 1807 with a chain on one side and H. M. Queen Elizbeth II on the other side. They are Sterling Silver with the edge gold plated to emulate the base metal bi-metallic coins.
