Elizabeth II, £2 (Bank of England) 1994 Silver Piedfort

In 1994 the Royal Mint struck a special commemorative £2 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Bank of England. It was the old larger-sized £2 coin and looks rather fantastic. It has the monogram WM for William and Mary and a rather attractive seated Britannia. We have a nice group of this important and attractive £2 piece in Piedfort Sterling Silver Proof. The mintage is 9,569. They come in a protective capsule. It is a large size, it has a beautiful design, and the mintage is rather low, what more could you ask for?

Victoria, Hanover Jack Token Brass VF

Amost interesting British token or jetton. The King of Britain was also the Duke of Hanover, but because the ruling Monarch in this country was a woman, Queen Victoria, she by law could not be Duke of Hanover. Her uncle Ernest Augustus Duke of Cumberland and 5th son of King George III, became Duke of Hanover in her place. These brass tokens show the Duke of Hanover leaving this country to take up his place in Germany. They are Good Very Fine - Extremely Fine condition. An interesting part of our history at a price that will not break the bank.

1953 Coronation Crown Proof_obv

Elizabeth II, Crown (Coronation) 1953 Proof

We found a small number of the 1953 Coronation Crown in Proof condition in stock. These had to come from Proof Sets as they didn’t issue the crown in proof as a single coin. We have heard of some crazy prices that are either being asked for this coin or even sold for. These coins are Proof and that is all we will say about them. Some have a sort of misty toning on them, we do not touch or clean them. They are Proof 1953 Coronation Crowns from a 1953 Proof Set.
