There has been a lot of talk of late about schools and businesses that were connected at one time to slavery and the slave trade. We are proud to be able to offer this Sterling Silver Proof £2 issued by the Royal Mint to honour the 200th anniversary of the Act for the Abolition Slave Trade in Great Britain. You have the date 1807 with a chain on one side and H. M. Queen Elizbeth II on the other side. They are Sterling Silver with the edge gold plated to emulate the base metal bi-metallic coins. A limited number of pieces are available so if you want one, please act quickly if you want it in your collection.

In 1994 the Royal Mint struck a special commemorative £2 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Bank of England. It was the old larger-sized £2 coin and looks rather fantastic. It has the monogram WM for William and Mary and a rather attractive seated Britannia. We have a nice group of this important and attractive £2 piece in Piedfort Sterling Silver Proof. The mintage is 9,569. They come in a protective capsule. It is a large size, it has a beautiful design, and the mintage is rather low, what more could you ask for?

In 1986 the Royal Mint issued its first-ever non-Gold Two Pound Piece. It was a commemorative for the Commonwealth Games which were held in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has a Scottish Thistle in the middle of the Scottish flag, with the cross of St. Andrew. The obverse has the so-called Maklouf portrait of the Queen. They were struck in base metal for general circulation and in Proof Sterling Silver for collectors. Today these coins are getting more and more difficult to find. It is the first non-Gold Two Pound piece and a commemorative.

As many of you know DNA is the building block of life. In 2003, The Royal Mint celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the discovery of the Double Helix by Francis Crick and James Watson. The Royal Mint made a Special Collector’s edition in Proof Sterling Silver in Piedfort or Double Thick Sterling Silver Proof and this is the coin we are offering. The mintage was a maximum of 10,000 pieces and each coin is in a protective capsule. It can be yours at just £65.00.

In 2003 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 piece to honour the finding of the double helix the basis of DNA which is of course, the building block of all life. The coins on offer are the VIP edition available in both Proof Sterling Silver and Proof Sterling Silver Piedfort. Because the normal coins are bi-metallic, the Mint has gold plated the outer edge to make them look like two different metals. But both are solid Sterling Silver. Supplies are of course limited.

In 1995 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 piece to mark the 50th-anniversary of the end of World War II. They used the iconic Dove of Peace and the inscription read ‘1945 In Peace Goodwill 1995’. You have the Dove of Peace on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other side. Remember this coin is one of the old large-sized £2 pieces. For collectors, the Mint issued this commemorative £2 in Sterling Silver Proof and for VIP collectors they issued it in Piedfort or double the normal thickness Sterling Silver Proof. We have available the Silver pieces, as well as the cupro-nickel coin in Unc. The Sterling Silver Proof coins will come in protective capsules.

Carrying on from the Robin Hood series the Royal Mint has issued a prooflike £2 silver coin featuring King Arthur, of the round table. Each coin is dated 2023 and carries the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. A beautiful coin brilliant prooflike on one side and cross-hatched Uncirculated on the other. It is most unusual to feature Her Majesty on a coin dated 2023. Each coin contains one ounce of silver and carries on a most popular series. Get these while you can, the earlier coins have mostly sold out. One of the marketing companies is advertising them at a price you wouldn’t believe.

For some reason, the Royal Mint has had delays in delivering the third in the Robin Hood Series, but at last, it is here… Little John, one ounce of pure silver dated 2022, has been added to Robin Hood series. Each coin has a face value of £2 and contains one ounce of pure silver. Each coin is in Specimen Uncirculated condition and comes in a Mint protective capsule. For some reason, this third issue for Little John has proved hard to get. Our agent has now received our allocation and as soon as we got them we offered them to you. This Sterling Silver Proof £2 coin was issued in 2008/2010 for the handover of the Olympics from Beijing to London. It has the Olympic flag being transferred from one hand to the other and the two different dates. It was issued by the Royal Mint and it is one issue that many collectors are missing as the edition limit was quite low and many people who collect Olympic memorabilia snapped them up and they went abroad. Each Sterling Silver Proof comes in a protective capsule as issued.

The Royal Mint has now issued the 2022 coin in their Silver Myths and Legend Series. It is Maid Marian, it has a face value of £2, contains one ounce of pure Silver and is in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition. So now you can either add Maid Marian to your Robin Hood coin or if you haven’t bought Robin you can have him too. We don’t know how many others will be made but we sure hope Friar Tuck will be coming along shortly. Both of these coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and the Maid Marian is an early strike. That means the dies were new and the coins are just that better strike. Most collectors wouldn’t notice the difference, but as we bought them early we know ours are early strikes.

In 2001 the Royal Mint honoured him with a special commemorative £2 piece. Beside the coins struck for circulation, they also made special collectors editions in Proof Sterling Silver and Piedfort or double the regular thickness again in Proof Sterling Silver. We recently acquired a small group of this very important commemorative decimal £2 coin in both Silver and Piedfort Silver. Each coin comes in a protective capsule. It has two different colours, but the outer ring is gold plated and the coin is solid Sterling Silver and a gleaming proof. This is the new design with, of course, the portrait of H. M. You have a most interesting and innovative design on this coin and one which they, unfortunately, have not repeated. Last year the Royal Mint issued a silver Britannia. But what most collectors don’t realize is that they also issued a silver Britannia with dogs countermarked on the edge. This was for the Chinese year of the dog. Both our supplier and the Royal Mint have sold out. The coins have £2 face value and are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition containing one ounce of pure silver. If you look on the edge of the coin you will see five small dogs countermarked on the edge. This could be a sleeper, the countermarked Britannia we had last year quickly sold out and we have been unable to get any more, so please be warned...

We have obtained some early strikes in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition of the 2022 Silver Britiannia. Each £2 coin contains an ounce of 999 fine silver and is one of the first struck from new fresh dies. In America they charge extra for first strikes, we do NOT charge anything extra for early strikes.

We have been able to get first strikes of the New 2019 Silver Britannia coins. They are 1 ounce of 999 Fine silver and in Prooflike Uncirculated condition, they are beautiful and choice, and wouldn’t they make excellent holiday gifts? You have Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a standing figure of Britannia on the reverse. They look almost like a Proof and remember these are early first strikes and just beautiful. Be one of the first to have the New 2019 Silver Britannia, we were only allowed 300 pieces, so please get in quickly if you want one in time for the holiday season. Of course, we will have more later, but these are early strikes and we have them now!

For some reason the Royal Mint is issuing the 2023 Silver Britannia with the Queen’s portrait on them! IWe were wrong when we said that the 2022 would be the last Queen Elizabeth II issue. My guess is they were struck before she died, we also understand that a King Charles Silver Britannia will be struck later in the year. But surprise, surprise not only was the 2023 Silver Britannia struck with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, but we have them in stock ready to be sent out now! We have Choice Brilliant Uncirculated Early Strike examples in stock and ready to sell them to you today. Don’t ask how we got them but Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop has them first and ready for your collection. They may cut off production shortly and this could be a key coin, then again they may not. But we have them now in 2022 although the coins are dated 2023. Get them while you can and while we still have them for sale.

Each of these 2018 £2 Silver Britannia coin contains an ounce of pure Silver, and the design has been revamped. In 2016 they redid the reverse, to make it reflect the light better. In 2017 they also did the obverse, the field has cross hatching to make the light sparkle off the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II. These coins are gorgeous and we are sure you will love them. These coins are all Brilliant Uncirculated but they look like Proofs.

The 50 Pence coin was first struck in 1969, two years before decimalization. In 2019 the Royal Mint, without a lot of fanfare, issued a special silver proof 50 Pence to honour the 50th anniversary of the Fifty Pence piece. They issued just 1,979 of these 2019 Sterling Silver 50 Pence Piece. Each coin comes in the Royal Mint packaging with certicate and information brochure. These are the first that we have ever seen or offered for sale. We said there wasn’t a lot of fanfare and that was an understatement. Add one to your collection while you can, very limited number of these Special 2019 Sterling Silver Proof 50 pence’s are available.

2004 Silver Proof 50p commemorative of the 50th anniversary of the achievement of Sir Roger Gilbert Bannister, an English middle-distance athlete, and neurologist, who ran a mile under 4 minutes, a feat once thought to be impossible.

Issued by the Royal Mint in 2017 this is a coloured 50 Pence struck in Proof Sterling Silver depicting Mr. Jeremy Fisher – the frog. Complete with the Royal Mint packaging, certificate, and information booklet just as issued. In fact, the Royal Mint issued it at £72.50! Reduced to £60.00. 2007 50 Pence Boy Scout Anniversary Brilliant Uncirculated

In 1994 the Royal Mint issued a commemorative 50 Pence for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day, one of the most important days in World War II. It was the older large sized 50 Pence and today it is very difficult to find, especially in Uncirculated condition. One of the marketing companies is selling this coin for £11.00, which we think is far too much. True it is difficult to find, but still £11.00 is a lot of money. We have some in stock and are offering it for £6.95, which we believe is a much more realistic and fairer price. You be the judge, do you want this coin from a marketing company at £11.00 or from a coin dealer for £6.95?

The Royal Mint issued a Special commemorative 50 Pence in 1994 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of D-Day. This was, of course, the day that we invaded Europe and the start of the long battle to defeat the Germans which set Europe Free. The 50 Pence at that time was a much larger coin and it showed the design off to its fullest. You have a squadron of planes and gliders attacking with ships below getting ready to off load the soldiers. The Mint also made a Special Collectors edition. Struck in Proof Sterling Silver they are now no longer made, the 50p has been replaced by a much smaller coin. Supplies are limited and each coin comes in a protective capsule as issued by the Mint.

In 2005 the Royal Mint issued a commemorative 50 Pence to honour the 250th anniversary of Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary of the English Language. Without this momentous work, we wouldn’t know what a lot of words mean today. You have a series of words on one side with the inscription ‘Johnson’s Dictionary 1755’. The other side has a portrait of H.M. the Queen and this coin is struck in Proof Sterling Silver. This is also a coin that is missing from many collections, especially in Silver. We believe our price for this older and very important commemorative coin, is less than what the Royal Mint will be charging for this year’s commemorative. Supplies are limited...

There has been all this noise about the Brexit coin released recently by the Royal Mint. We are now going to offer you the first Real Brexit Coin. Namely the old large sized 50 Pence that was issued in 1973, some 47 years ago when we joined the European Union. You cannot leave unless you are already a member! This coin is the old large style 50 Pence and it depicted 9 hands of the European Community holding each other in a circle. Far fewer members, far easier to get things done. This original First Real Brexit Coin was struck in cupro-nickel in both Uncirculated and Proof condition. They are a lot more difficult to find than the new Brexit coin and are of course 47 years old and to be honest perhaps cheaper.

Let’s be honest, forget all the bull that is being given out, this was the first Brexit coin. It is an old large-sized 50 Pence which was issued in 1973. It was the first-ever commemorative 50 Pence pieces, the series they are issuing today are based on this coin. It was issued to honour our joining the European Economic Community or EU for short. In 1973 we joined it, in 2021 we are finally rid of it. They were only issued in cupro-nickel but in both Uncirculated and Proof condition. Without this coin, we could never have a coin for leaving the EU, if you aren’t a member you cannot resign. Much underappreciated even though it was our first-ever commemorative 50p, which is now 47 years old. We can offer it in Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof and Proof with the Royal Mint case. The choice is yours.

In 1973 they issued a commemorative 50 Pence to honour our membership in the European Union or EU. In 1998 they issued a second EU 50 Pence to honour our 25th Anniversary of membership of the European Union. In 1973 they issued the coins in cupronickel and cupronickel Proof, in 1998 they issued them in cupronickel, Sterling Silver Proof and Sterling Silver Proof Piedfort. Offered here is the Sterling Silver Proof Coin. The design is a group of star-shaped flowers with stars in the middle to represent the EU membership, today they would have to picture a jungle of flowers.

In 2000 the world entered a new millennium, something that only comes around once every 1,000 years. So it probably won’t happen during our lifetimes again. We have beautiful Sterling Silver Proof examples of the 50 Pence, the most popular denomination of the moment. Usually, this coin only comes in cupro-nickel, but these were especially struck in Proof Sterling Silver for special collectors. The most popular denomination but struck in gleaming Sterling Silver Proof. Worth adding one to your collection!

We have all appreciated everything that the National Health Service did for us during the pandemic. But what most collectors don’t know is that in 1998 the Royal Mint struck a special commemorative 50 Pence to honour the 50th anniversary of the National Health Service 1948-1998. We have a small quantity of this coin in the VIP Sterling Silver Proof. It is great coin to honour a great institution. Supplies are limited and these silver proofs are now 23 years old.

In 1998 the Royal Mint issued a special 50 Pence honouring the National Health Service (NHS). They made some special coins for very special collectors. They were struck in Proof Sterling Silver and were twice the normal thickness or Piedforts. We have just bought 10 of these important type coins. With what some of the prices that are being asked for ‘common’ current coins, we think this is good value.

In 2018 the Royal Mint issued two 50 Pence pieces to honour Paddington Bear. We have been able to buy both of these coins in Proof Sterling Silver. This one is Paddington Bear at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives. Paddington is in full colour waving a British flag in front of Buckingham Palace. It is stuck in Proof Sterling Silver and comes in a heavy and fully clear Perspex display case inside a yellow presentation box. We believe the issue price was £67.50. This lot was bought right and we are going to sell it right, just £49.50 that is a saving of £18.00 on the Royal Mint issue price. And yes they are complete with all packaging, the certificate and leaflet. The only difference is that you save £18.00 a coin.
