In 1995 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 piece to mark the 50th-anniversary of the end of World War II. They used the iconic Dove of Peace and the inscription read ‘1945 In Peace Goodwill 1995’. You have the Dove of Peace on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other side. Remember this coin is one of the old large-sized £2 pieces. For collectors, the Mint issued this commemorative £2 in Sterling Silver Proof and for VIP collectors they issued it in Piedfort or double the normal thickness Sterling Silver Proof. We have available the Silver pieces, as well as the cupro-nickel coin in Unc. The Sterling Silver Proof coins will come in protective capsules.
Carrying on from the Robin Hood series the Royal Mint has issued a prooflike £2 silver coin featuring King Arthur, of the round table. Each coin is dated 2023 and carries the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. A beautiful coin brilliant prooflike on one side and cross-hatched Uncirculated on the other. It is most unusual to feature Her Majesty on a coin dated 2023. Each coin contains one ounce of silver and carries on a most popular series. Get these while you can, the earlier coins have mostly sold out. One of the marketing companies is advertising them at a price you wouldn’t believe.
This Sterling Silver Proof £2 coin was issued in 2008/2010 for the handover of the Olympics from Beijing to London. It has the Olympic flag being transferred from one hand to the other and the two different dates. It was issued by the Royal Mint and it is one issue that many collectors are missing as the edition limit was quite low and many people who collect Olympic memorabilia snapped them up and they went abroad. Each Sterling Silver Proof comes in a protective capsule as issued.
The Royal Mint has now issued the 2022 coin in their Silver Myths and Legend Series. It is Maid Marian, it has a face value of £2, contains one ounce of pure Silver and is in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition. So now you can either add Maid Marian to your Robin Hood coin or if you haven’t bought Robin you can have him too. We don’t know how many others will be made but we sure hope Friar Tuck will be coming along shortly. Both of these coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and the Maid Marian is an early strike. That means the dies were new and the coins are just that better strike. Most collectors wouldn’t notice the difference, but as we bought them early we know ours are early strikes.
Guglielmo Marconi, the 1st Marquis Marconi is said to be the inventor of wireless transmissions and therefore radio. He won a Nobel prize for wireless transmission and founded the Marconi Company. In 2001 the Royal Mint honoured him with a special commemorative £2 piece. Beside the coins struck for circulation, they also made special collectors editions in Proof Sterling Silver and Piedfort or double the regular thickness again in Proof Sterling Silver. We recently acquired a small group of this very important commemorative decimal £2 coin in both Silver and Piedfort Silver. Each coin comes in a protective capsule. Supplies are limited and they are priced at less than the Royal Mint charges for modern issues today.

This one is a winner, the £2 issued for the Millennium in 2000, but a Sterling Silver Proof coin. It has two different colours, but the outer ring is gold plated and the coin is solid Sterling Silver and a gleaming proof. This is the new design with, of course, the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. These Royal Mint coins come in a protective capsule as issued. Remember they are now 21 years old and much cheaper than the Mint charges for similar pieces today.
In 1999 the Webb Ellis Cup Final was hosted by the Welsh Rugby Union. To honour this even the Royal Mint issued a Special Commemorative £2 coin. This issue we offer the collector’s versions in Silver. Although they are struck in Proof Sterling Silver, to imitate the base metal bi-metallic currency issues, the Royal Mint gold plated the outer rim of the Silver Proof Coins. All coins come in a protective capsule as issued by the mint.

For those of you who like football, in 1996 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 coin for the European Championship that was held in this country. You have a most interesting and innovative design on this coin and one which they, unfortunately, have not repeated. You had the whole reverse covered by a football and with the planchet concave you have a stunning coin. We are offering here is the Sterling Silver proof variant. This was the last of the large-sized £2 pieces and in our opinion the most attractive and innovative.
In 1997 the Royal Mint issued the first of the current bi-metallic £2 pieces, the problem was how to strike them for collectors in Silver. The answer was to strike them in Sterling Silver and then to gold plate the outer ring so it would look like a bi-metallic piece. Many collectors have overlooked this series and to be honest we just don’t know why. The first of any series is important and these especially for the difficulty that the Mint faced in striking them. Here we offer the Sterling Silver Proof £2.

In 1997 the Royal Mint changed the Two Pound Piece. They made it smaller and they also made it bi-metallic and as with all new designs or types, collectors put them away. Come the next year and 1998 was almost forgotten by collectors. The coin on offer is the collector’s version of the circulating £2 of 1998, but struck in Proof Sterling Silver. To make the coin look like a bi-metallic coin, they gold plated the rim of the coin, so you see gold and silver, similar colours to the circulating issue. This 1998 Silver Proof £2 is not an easy coin to find and many collectors are missing it. An interesting coin almost forgot by collectors sold at the right price.

In 2006 the Royal Mint issued a special Proof Set, not only were the denominations struck in Proof but they were Sterling Silver Proofs. We have obtained between 11 and 19 pieces of each of these £2 coins, which we now offer you now. You can now add it to your collection in beautiful Sterling Silver Proofs. This is one of the three most collected denominations and we only have a small quantity of each, so please do not miss out on this coin. It's shiny proof, it's sterling silver, and it can be yours...
Last year the Royal Mint issued a silver Britannia. But what most collectors don’t realize is that they also issued a silver Britannia with dogs countermarked on the edge. This was for the Chinese year of the dog. Both our supplier and the Royal Mint have sold out. The coins have £2 face value and are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition containing one ounce of pure silver. If you look on the edge of the coin you will see five small dogs countermarked on the edge. This could be a sleeper, the countermarked Britannia we had last year quickly sold out and we have been unable to get any more, so please be warned...
We have obtained some early strikes in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition of the 2022 Silver Britiannia. Each £2 coin contains an ounce of 999 fine silver and is one of the first struck from new fresh dies. In America they charge extra for first strikes, we do NOT charge anything extra for early strikes.

For some reason the Royal Mint is issuing the 2023 Silver Britannia with the Queen’s portrait on them! IWe were wrong when we said that the 2022 would be the last Queen Elizabeth II issue. My guess is they were struck before she died, we also understand that a King Charles Silver Britannia will be struck later in the year. But surprise, surprise not only was the 2023 Silver Britannia struck with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, but we have them in stock ready to be sent out now! We have Choice Brilliant Uncirculated Early Strike examples in stock and ready to sell them to you today. Don’t ask how we got them but Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop has them first and ready for your collection. They may cut off production shortly and this could be a key coin, then again they may not. But we have them now in 2022 although the coins are dated 2023. Get them while you can and while we still have them for sale.
Each of these 2018 £2 Silver Britannia coin contains an ounce of pure Silver, and the design has been revamped. In 2016 they redid the reverse, to make it reflect the light better. In 2017 they also did the obverse, the field has cross hatching to make the light sparkle off the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II. These coins are gorgeous and we are sure you will love them. These coins are all Brilliant Uncirculated but they look like Proofs.
On 29 July 1981, Prince Charles (now King Charles III) was married to Lady Diana Spencer at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, and these large Sterling Silver ‘Crowns’ were issued by the Royal Mint to mark the event. They separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996 but these coins were the first official coin to carry the portrait of our new King and the Royal Mint is now charging £90 for the new ‘Crowns’ of Charles III. The crown comes in an Official Royal Mint case with a certificate and is protected in a capsule so you can view both sides without getting your fingerprints on it.
The 1981 British crown is known as the Charles & Diana wedding crown. But,more importantly it is the last British crown that the Royal Mint ever struck. The crown (38mm) goes back to the reign of King Edward VI (1551) and this 1981 crown was the last one ever struck. You have Charles and Diana on one side and the Queen on the other side. This crown is struck in Uncirculated cupro-nickel and again was the last crown ever struck. We have a small group of covers from 1981 to commemorate the Queen’s visit to the South Woodham Ferrers on the 21st of May 1981. It also has a guide dog stamp cancelled with a large frank which reads ‘The Royal Visit to the South Woodham Ferrers Chelmsford Essex 21st May 1981’. At this price they would make excellent gifts for stamps collectors, coin collectors and lovers of dogs.
In 1980 the late Queen Mother celebrated her 80th birthday. The Royal Mint issued a special commemorative crown to honour the event. It was in fact, one of the last crowns that the Mint would ever issue. You had the Queen Mother on one side and her daughter, the Queen on the other side. We can offer you this cupro-nickel crown in Uncirculated condition plus we can give a full-colour postcard issued by the Post Office showing the stamp they issued for her 80th birthday. You get the crown and the postcard, both official issues for just £3.95. Very good value for money, don't you think?
In 1977 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Silver Jubilee 1952-1977. The Royal Mint, as they did with her Grandfather, George V, issued a special silver commemorative crown or five-shilling piece. It shows the Queen on horseback and was very popular with the public at the time. In fact, it was probably was the height of public celebrations. The 1977 Silver Jubilee Crown in Proof Sterling Silver is one of the most popular of her reign and the best value of her entire series. Today the Mint seems to be issuing a crownsized coin almost every day. Here we offer you Proof Sterling Silver examples of the 1977 Silver Jubilee Crown with the Official Royal Mint case. Remember these silver proof crowns are now over 40 years old and are crown coins not the £5 pieces issued today. We think these silver proof crowns are real coins and not some fantasy £5 piece that has never actually been used.

In 1972 the Royal Mint issued a commemorative 25 Pence or Crown for the Queen & Prince Phillip’s 25th Wedding Anniversary. What most people don’t realise is that there were three different types issued. You have the base metal or cupronickel Crown that was issued in Uncirculated theoretically for circulation and the Sterling Silver Proof issued for collectors, but you also have a third type issued. This is the cupronickel Proof which came in the 1972 Proof Set. The type offered here is the cupronickel proof. It is a simple design with EP for Elizabeth and Phillip on one side and the Queen’s portrait on the other side. It is also the first decimal crown or 25 Pence to be struck for the Queen.

In 1990 the Royal Mint reduced the size of the 5 Pence piece to the size we use today. They did strike some of the large sized 1990 5 Pence pieces but they were only in the Mint and Proof Sets. For collectors they issued a fantastic set of the Large and Small sized 1990 5 Pence pieces in Proof Sterling Silver. We have just managed to find a small group of this difficult to get set, up North. You get both the Large sized 1990 5 Pence in Proof Sterling Silver and the Small sized 1990 5 Pence in Proof Sterling Silver. The pair come in the Official Royal Mint presentation case. Not an easy set to get and the 1990 Large sized 5 Pence is really a collectors coin. Only a restricted number of sets in stock and when these are gone, who knows where we will find any more…
This is the old style 5 Pence piece, you know the ones we all liked. It which was issued up until 2008, then we changed over to the current design. We bought a group of beautiful Sterling Silver Proof examples of the 2000 5 Pence, which you usually see only in cupro-nickel. So this is a Special Issue at a very Special Price. You have the Ian Rank-Broadley bust of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a crowned thistle on the reverse. This is the second type, the reduced size that we use today, but it has a totally different design on both sides. You can own the Sterling Silver Proof 2000 Queen Elizabeth II Five Pence, that we normally sell for £27.50, for just £17.50 which saves your £10.00. A Sterling Silver Proof 5 Pence for just £17.50, now that is a bargain. Supplies are of course limited, get in while you can.
1990 Large & Small 5 Pence Set Silver Proofs. In 1990 the Royal Mint reduced the size of our 5 Pence. To commemorate this historic reduction in the size of our coin, the Royal Mint issued a Special collector’s set of the old large-sized coin and the new smaller sized coin. But this set was only struck in Proof Sterling Silver, which makes it very important today. We have just purchased a small holding of the large and small Sterling Silver 5 Pence Sets. Each set is in the original Royal Mint case as issued. This set is missing from many collections and I think that you will find it most interesting.
A dealer we know broke up some Royal Mint 2009 all Silver Proof Sets for the Kew Gardens 50p. We were able to buy the rest of the sets at a most reasonable price, which we are now passing on to you. There were six (6) sets, so there are just six of each of the following Sterling Silver Proof coins. Here we present the £2 in its Royal Mint Protective capsule, at this price it is well worth thinking about…
