Croatia War Memorial Medal

The Medal of Remembrance for the Homeland War is a Croatian state medal awarded to both Croatian and foreign citizens who participated in the nation’s Croatian War of Independence, as a volunteer, part of the Croatian Army and Croatian Council of Defence or in some other role. Struck in gilt metal, the obverse shows a standing female figure with a sword pointing downwards in her right hand and her left arm raised holding the Croatian coat of-arms, all within a wreath around the edge. The reverse inscribed “RH” (Republika Hrvatska = Republic of Croatia) in the centre, surrounded by the inscription “SPOMENICA DOMOVINSKOG RATA” (Remembrance for the Homeland War). The medal is suspended from a triangular ribbon of thick red, white and blue stripes. Only a very limited number available.
