Belgium, Triangular World War I Commemorative Medal

This unusually shaped medal was issued by Belgium to honour those who served during the First World War under the same conditions as for the Victory Medal. The obverse has the side view of a soldier wearing his helmet, but on that helmet is a spray of laurel. The reverse has a crown over the dates 1914-1918. It comes with a ribbon in red, orange and black and is most unusual. The shape is almost that of an isosceles triangle and we believe that this is the first time that we have had them to offer you.
