In 1996 the Royal Mint issued its first ever all Silver Proof Set. You have the 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 all struck in Sterling Silver. The set is housed in a plastic case to protect the coins and this is then placed in a plush velveteen case. Over the years the coins, as all silver will, have toned a little.
