The first Pound coin was issued in 1983 and it featured the Royal Arms design on the reverse, 1993 saw the return of this design but this time with the Maklouf obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth.
Again they issued the coins as Sterling Silver Proofs for collectors but in 1993 the mintage was considerably lower than in 1983.
All coins are Proof Sterling Silver and in their original capsules as issued. Supplies are short and with the new design of pound coin just released these older issues will be in greater demand.
