Elizabeth II, 1976 Royal Mint Proof Set

With the 1976 Proof Set the Royal Mint started to issue one Proof Set for each year. This 1976 set was really the start of the current series which goes on until today.

There is one thing that is very important about the 1976 Proof Set and that is that the 1976 5 Pence was not struck for circulation. So if you need this coin for your collection, then you need a 1976 Proof Set.

Each set comes in the hard plastic case with the coloured wrapper, just as they were issued by the Mint. Over the past 40 years the coins will have toned a little, this is normal of Proof Sets of this era. We always select the best set that we have in stock when we get your order. Each set contains the 50p, 10p 5p (not issued for circulation), 2p. 1p and 1/2p all in Proof condition.
