Yugoslavia, 1984 Mint Set

Yugoslavia is a country that no longer exists, it was broken up after a series of political upheavals and conflicts during the early 1990s. This is the official 1984 mint set in its Narodna Bank presentation folder. There are five coins 0.50, 1, 2, 5, and 10 Dinar. The coins are Uncirculated but slightly toned, as this set is now over 35 years old. A set you don’t often see offered from a country that no longer exists, you will not see any new ones. This set is now difficult to get and has a lot of things going for it.

Picture of South Africa, Mandela Mint Set Special

South Africa, Mandela Mint Set Special

When Nelson Mandela was finally released from prison after many years of hard labor, he shocked the world. He came out in a suit and didn’t hate those who put him inside. Rather he realised that he could help his country go forward and regain its place in the world. He was a hero and loved and admired by not only his own countrymen but by people all over the world. The South African Government made both a coin and a banknote with his portrait on them. A friend in South Africa made up a handsome folder with both the coin and the banknote, which we are now proud to be able to offer. Supplies are running out and we don’t know where or when we will be able to get any more. A true gentleman, someone who put his country before himself and someone we admire. Add the set to your collection today.

Picture of Russia (USSR), 8 coin Mint Set

Russia (USSR), 8 coin Mint Set

This is a set of coins issued under the USSR. They are not easy to find these days, especially in Brilliant Uncirculated conditions. You get the 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 50 Kopeks. They are dated between 1979 and 1990. At the time these were issued it was extremely difficult to get coins out of Russia, especially Uncirculated coins. But when you know some people that know some people… Remember that all eight coins were not struck every year, so to complete the set took many years. We think this is a very interesting set of coins. Richard and Claire have visited Russia 3 or 4 times and they don’t remember seeing many coins in use, let alone Uncirculated coins...

Picture of Italy Set of 5 pre-Euro Coins

Italy Set of 5 pre-Euro Coins

Italy, like many European countries, had its own coinage before the Euro, but even then they were of very little value and almost no one put them away. As I remember there were about 2260 Lira to the Pound. The coins cost far more to make than their face value. Just to make it more interesting, the smaller coins have the largest denominations! You get the 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Lire coins of Italy dated between 1992 and 1998. All five coins are in Uncirculated condition and very difficult to find today. We can offer the five pre-Euro coins of Italy now almost 20 years old and in Uncirculated condition for just £4.95. A most interesting set of coins with a low face value and a high cost of striking.
