Austria was one of the 12 countries to join the euro when it was launched in 2002, but until then the country used the schilling which was subdivided into 100 groschen. The reason that the 5 groschen was made of zinc was because they were struck on leftover blanks from wartime Reichpfennig coins, and although they were no longer made after 1992, they remained legal tender until 2002. The other coins are the aluminium 20 groschen and the aluminium bronze 50 groschen and 1 Schilling, as well as the copper nickel 5 and 10 Schilling.

Flavius Julius Crispus was the eldest son of Constantine the Great, he became Caesar in March 317 AD but his promising career was cut short when he was executed in 326 AD on the orders of his own father. The exact details remain unclear but he must have committed an extremely serious crime to warrant such an act. These bronze Follis, minted in the name of Crispus at the London mint, show the extent of his power at the time. They feature his portrait on the obverse with the reverses mostly showcasing military motifs, such as a camp gate or a soldier holding a standard, symbolizing his victories in military campaigns. The London mint’s craftsmanship is evident in the detailed artistry of these coins and the PLON mintmark on the reverse provides the all-important evidence of these coins being minted in London sometime between 317-326 AD. They grade About Extremely Fine. Please Note: PHOTOGRAPHY IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE COIN SUPPLIED

In 1937, Edward, The Duke of Windsor, formerly King Edward VIII, finally married Mrs. Wallace Simpson. They married in a chateau in France, we know because we bought the archives of that chateau. The only things made to commemorate that wedding some 87 years ago, were two photographic covers with French stamps. The British Royal Family shunned the wedding and no one was allowed to go. Many years ago, we bought a supply of these covers from a stamp dealer in New York City. Now, some 45 years later, we are about to run out of our supply of covers. We have seen they are priced much higher elsewhere, but we are still keeping our old price.
