British Caribbean Model Cuppro-Nickel_obv

British Caribbean Model Cuppro-Nickel

A while back we offered the Silver Model of this issue, now we have found the cupronickel and the brass strikings. They were originally made as plasters by the famous sculptor Henry Paget, the same man who made the 1935 Crown. They should have been small-sized as the denomination was intended to be 10 Cents, but they are in fact crownsized. You have a sailing ship on one side with the date 1955 and the denomination 10 C. They were made originally for the British Caribbean Territories – Eastern Group. We have just 3 in stock and when they are gone there will be no more. They are Rare and have the word ‘Model’ on the reverse.

China, Kwangtung 20 Cents 1929 Extremely Fine

Sun Yat-sen was a Chinese revolutionary statesman, physician, and political philosopher who served as the first provisional president of the Republic of China and the fi rst leader of the Nationalist Party of China. Sun is considered to be one of the greatest and most important leaders of modern China and is unique among 20th-century Chinese leaders being widely revered by both the Communist Party in Mainland China and the Nationalist Party in Taiwan. But his political life was one of constant struggle and frequent exile. He died in Peking (Beijing) in 1925. Sun’s chief legacy is his political philosophy known as the Three Principles of the People: Mínzú (nationalism), Mínquán (rights of the people) and Mínshēng (people’s livelihood). These scarce silver 20 cents, or 2 Jiao, coins were issued by the Kwangtung Province in 1929 to honour the great man and feature the bust of Sun Yat-sen facing left. Elizabeth I, Shilling Fair_obv

Elizabeth I, Shilling Fair

When Elizabeth took the throne in 1558, much of the country’s coinage was in a poor state after her father, Henry VIII’s debasement of silver coins. It was Elizabeth’s intention to raise the quality of the country’s coinage back up to Sterling quality, and in 1560, the Tower mint began striking her Fine Silver coins. They feature Elizabeth facing left on the obverse and cross over a shield on the reverse, they were struck between 1560 and 1602 and are getting very expensive in higher grades. For the first time in 13 years, we’re able to offer you Elizabeth I’s Fine Silver shillings, they are graded Fair as these were heavily circulated for about a century and are now up to 463 years old.
