Shilling (Scottish) 1966 Brilliant Unc_obv

Elizabeth II, Shilling (Scottish) 1966 Brilliant Unc

Most people think that the last pre-decimal coins struck for circulation were dated 1967, they would only be partly right. In fact most pre-decimal coins were last struck in 1967, that is except for the Shilling. The last Shilling struck for circulation was in 1966, they did not make any in 1967. They issued two diff erent types of 1966 Shillings, the English reverse and the Scottish reverse. The coin on off er this issue is the Scottish 1966 Shilling in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. As the Shilling had a direct decimal equivalent they felt that they had enough of this denomination to fi ll all their needs at the time.

1957_sovereign_unc

Elizabeth II, Sovereign 1957 Brilliant Unc

The 1957 Queen Elizabeth II Sovereign is something very special. It was the first Elizabeth II gold sovereign that the public was allowed to buy. The milling on the edge is fine while all other issues have coarser milling. So it is a true one-year type coin. It was issued by the Bank of England although struck by the Royal Mint, so it was subject to a 44% dollar premium. Thus it was the most expensive Sovereign issued at the time, you paid less for a Victorian Sovereign. Because you paid 44% extra in taxes on this QEII Sovereign. Why pay £999 or even £750 why not buy one from Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop for only £625? Why not save yourself some money? You are getting an original 1957 Gold Sovereign in Brilliant Uncirculated condition for only £625.00. This little hoard is very limited and it is being sold on a first-come-first-served basis. At Coincraft, if we buy right, you buy right! Supplies are limited.
