Interesting notes for issue in 19th century Ireland when Private banks proliferated. This One Guinea note was for issue by Killarney Deanagh Mills in the early years of the 19th century. In Ireland the denomination of One Guinea was the equivalent of One Pound Two Shillings and Ninepence, rather than the One Pound One shilling we normally associate with this denomination. The illustration is of a cat seated on top of a rock with a shield below. These are printed on one side only and they are large size.
