George V, Threepence, 1935 Uncirculated

In 1935 King George V reached his Silver Jubilee (1910-1935), a feat that not all that many of our Monarchs had or would reach. The smallest silver coin issued for circulation at that time was the Threepence or Joey. We have a nice group of Silver Jubilee Silver Threepences on offer, but supplies are limited. Here we offer them in Uncirculated condition. The coins are struck in 500 fine Silver and the year after 1935, was when King George V died, causing great problems with Royal succession.

George VI, Silver Threepence, 1938

In 1938 our Prime Minister Chamberlain met with Hitler, a lot good that did us. The Bren Light Machine Gun entered the British Army, now did us a lot of good. The Beano was first put on sale and that gave all of us a laugh. Our King was George VI, who had been on the throne for only about a year. The smallest silver coin struck for circulation was the Silver Threepence, even though at the same time a brass threepence was actually being struck as well. We can offer this George VI 1938 Silver Threepence in Fine condition and it is a date that is not all that easy to find.

George V, Threepence Sterling Silver, 1916

This King George V Threepence is dated 1916, issued during World War One, and most importantly is struck in Sterling Silver. Our coinage would be struck in Sterling Silver for just 3 more years. The coins are in Fine condition and have the bare head portrait of the King on one side and a crowned ‘3’ on the other side. A nice coin to add to your collection and it is 102 years old.

Elizabeth II, Florin, 1966 Uncirculated

The last Florin issued for circulation was in 1967, the first year of issue was only 1849, so it is a short lived denomination. Also as a denomination the Florin has always been the most difficult one to get. I have some nice Uncirculated Queen Elizabeth II 1966 Florins. This the penultimate year of the whole denomination. Not easy to get, yet it is not an expensive coin.
