There has been a lot of talk of late about schools and businesses that were connected at one time to slavery and the slave trade. We are proud to be able to offer this Sterling Silver Proof £2 issued by the Royal Mint to honour the 200th anniversary of the Act for the Abolition Slave Trade in Great Britain. You have the date 1807 with a chain on one side and H. M. Queen Elizbeth II on the other side. They are Sterling Silver with the edge gold plated to emulate the base metal bi-metallic coins. A limited number of pieces are available so if you want one, please act quickly if you want it in your collection.
In 1994 the Royal Mint struck a special commemorative £2 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Bank of England. It was the old larger-sized £2 coin and looks rather fantastic. It has the monogram WM for William and Mary and a rather attractive seated Britannia. We have a nice group of this important and attractive £2 piece in Piedfort Sterling Silver Proof. The mintage is 9,569. They come in a protective capsule. It is a large size, it has a beautiful design, and the mintage is rather low, what more could you ask for?
In 1986 the Royal Mint issued its first-ever non-Gold Two Pound Piece. It was a commemorative for the Commonwealth Games which were held in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has a Scottish Thistle in the middle of the Scottish flag, with the cross of St. Andrew. The obverse has the so-called Maklouf portrait of the Queen. They were struck in base metal for general circulation and in Proof Sterling Silver for collectors. Today these coins are getting more and more difficult to find. It is the first non-Gold Two Pound piece and a commemorative.
As many of you know DNA is the building block of life. In 2003, The Royal Mint celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the discovery of the Double Helix by Francis Crick and James Watson. The Royal Mint made a Special Collector’s edition in Proof Sterling Silver in Piedfort or Double Thick Sterling Silver Proof and this is the coin we are offering. The mintage was a maximum of 10,000 pieces and each coin is in a protective capsule. It can be yours at just £65.00.
In 2003 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 piece to honour the finding of the double helix the basis of DNA which is of course, the building block of all life. The coins on offer are the VIP edition available in both Proof Sterling Silver and Proof Sterling Silver Piedfort. Because the normal coins are bi-metallic, the Mint has gold plated the outer edge to make them look like two different metals. But both are solid Sterling Silver. Supplies are of course limited.
£2 Piedfort Proof (double the normal thickness of Sterling Silver Proof) coin commemorative of the 50th Anniversary of the End of World War II. The Dove of Peace on the reverse and Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Each coin comes in a protective capsule.

In 1995 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 piece to mark the 50th-anniversary of the end of World War II. They used the iconic Dove of Peace and the inscription read ‘1945 In Peace Goodwill 1995’. You have the Dove of Peace on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other side. Remember this coin is one of the old large-sized £2 pieces. For collectors, the Mint issued this commemorative £2 in Sterling Silver Proof and for VIP collectors they issued it in Piedfort or double the normal thickness Sterling Silver Proof. We have available the Silver pieces, as well as the cupro-nickel coin in Unc. The Sterling Silver Proof coins will come in protective capsules.
Carrying on from the Robin Hood series the Royal Mint has issued a prooflike £2 silver coin featuring King Arthur, of the round table. Each coin is dated 2023 and carries the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. A beautiful coin brilliant prooflike on one side and cross-hatched Uncirculated on the other. It is most unusual to feature Her Majesty on a coin dated 2023. Each coin contains one ounce of silver and carries on a most popular series. Get these while you can, the earlier coins have mostly sold out. One of the marketing companies is advertising them at a price you wouldn’t believe.
This Sterling Silver Proof £2 coin was issued in 2008/2010 for the handover of the Olympics from Beijing to London. It has the Olympic flag being transferred from one hand to the other and the two different dates. It was issued by the Royal Mint and it is one issue that many collectors are missing as the edition limit was quite low and many people who collect Olympic memorabilia snapped them up and they went abroad. Each Sterling Silver Proof comes in a protective capsule as issued.
The Royal Mint has now issued the 2022 coin in their Silver Myths and Legend Series. It is Maid Marian, it has a face value of £2, contains one ounce of pure Silver and is in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition. So now you can either add Maid Marian to your Robin Hood coin or if you haven’t bought Robin you can have him too. We don’t know how many others will be made but we sure hope Friar Tuck will be coming along shortly. Both of these coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and the Maid Marian is an early strike. That means the dies were new and the coins are just that better strike. Most collectors wouldn’t notice the difference, but as we bought them early we know ours are early strikes.
Guglielmo Marconi, the 1st Marquis Marconi is said to be the inventor of wireless transmissions and therefore radio. He won a Nobel prize for wireless transmission and founded the Marconi Company. In 2001 the Royal Mint honoured him with a special commemorative £2 piece. Beside the coins struck for circulation, they also made special collectors editions in Proof Sterling Silver and Piedfort or double the regular thickness again in Proof Sterling Silver. We recently acquired a small group of this very important commemorative decimal £2 coin in both Silver and Piedfort Silver. Each coin comes in a protective capsule. Supplies are limited and they are priced at less than the Royal Mint charges for modern issues today.

This one is a winner, the £2 issued for the Millennium in 2000, but a Sterling Silver Proof coin. It has two different colours, but the outer ring is gold plated and the coin is solid Sterling Silver and a gleaming proof. This is the new design with, of course, the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. These Royal Mint coins come in a protective capsule as issued. Remember they are now 21 years old and much cheaper than the Mint charges for similar pieces today.
In 1999 the Webb Ellis Cup Final was hosted by the Welsh Rugby Union. To honour this even the Royal Mint issued a Special Commemorative £2 coin. This issue we offer the collector’s versions in Silver. Although they are struck in Proof Sterling Silver, to imitate the base metal bi-metallic currency issues, the Royal Mint gold plated the outer rim of the Silver Proof Coins. All coins come in a protective capsule as issued by the mint.

For those of you who like football, in 1996 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 coin for the European Championship that was held in this country. You have a most interesting and innovative design on this coin and one which they, unfortunately, have not repeated. You had the whole reverse covered by a football and with the planchet concave you have a stunning coin. We are offering here is the Sterling Silver proof variant. This was the last of the large-sized £2 pieces and in our opinion the most attractive and innovative.
In 1997 the Royal Mint issued the first of the current bi-metallic £2 pieces, the problem was how to strike them for collectors in Silver. The answer was to strike them in Sterling Silver and then to gold plate the outer ring so it would look like a bi-metallic piece. Many collectors have overlooked this series and to be honest we just don’t know why. The first of any series is important and these especially for the difficulty that the Mint faced in striking them. Here we offer the Sterling Silver Proof £2.

In 1997 the Royal Mint changed the Two Pound Piece. They made it smaller and they also made it bi-metallic and as with all new designs or types, collectors put them away. Come the next year and 1998 was almost forgotten by collectors. The coin on offer is the collector’s version of the circulating £2 of 1998, but struck in Proof Sterling Silver. To make the coin look like a bi-metallic coin, they gold plated the rim of the coin, so you see gold and silver, similar colours to the circulating issue. This 1998 Silver Proof £2 is not an easy coin to find and many collectors are missing it. An interesting coin almost forgot by collectors sold at the right price.

In 2006 the Royal Mint issued a special Proof Set, not only were the denominations struck in Proof but they were Sterling Silver Proofs. We have obtained between 11 and 19 pieces of each of these £2 coins, which we now offer you now. You can now add it to your collection in beautiful Sterling Silver Proofs. This is one of the three most collected denominations and we only have a small quantity of each, so please do not miss out on this coin. It's shiny proof, it's sterling silver, and it can be yours...
Last year the Royal Mint issued a silver Britannia. But what most collectors don’t realize is that they also issued a silver Britannia with dogs countermarked on the edge. This was for the Chinese year of the dog. Both our supplier and the Royal Mint have sold out. The coins have £2 face value and are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition containing one ounce of pure silver. If you look on the edge of the coin you will see five small dogs countermarked on the edge. This could be a sleeper, the countermarked Britannia we had last year quickly sold out and we have been unable to get any more, so please be warned...
We have obtained some early strikes in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition of the 2022 Silver Britiannia. For some reason the Royal Mint is issuing the 2023 Silver Britannia with the Queen’s portrait on them! IWe were wrong when we said that the 2022 would be the last Queen Elizabeth II issue. My guess is they were struck before she died, we also understand that a King Charles Silver Britannia will be struck later in the year. But surprise, surprise not only was the 2023 Silver Britannia struck with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, but we have them in stock ready to be sent out now! We have Choice Brilliant Uncirculated Early Strike examples in stock and ready to sell them to you today. Don’t ask how we got them but Coincraft – Britain’s Coin Shop has them first and ready for your collection. They may cut off production shortly and this could be a key coin, then again they may not. But we have them now in 2022 although the coins are dated 2023. Get them while you can and while we still have them for sale.
Each of these 2018 £2 Silver Britannia coin contains an ounce of pure Silver, and the design has been revamped. In 2016 they redid the reverse, to make it reflect the light better. In 2017 they also did the obverse, the field has cross hatching to make the light sparkle off the portrait of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II. These coins are gorgeous and we are sure you will love them. These coins are all Brilliant Uncirculated but they look like Proofs.
Now this is coin that most people have heard of, but not all that many can own. The Quarter Sovereign was one made for the first time in 2009. We have the scarce Jody Clark 2019 in Proof condition of which they only made 2,500 coins. Our coins are complete in the Royal Mint wooden presentation case with all the original paperwork. With this low mintage it is easy to see why so many collectors are missing this coin in their collection. We have a very small number in stock and when these are gone there will be no more… This could well become one of the key coins of the series in the future.
In 1982 the Royal Mint introduced a new denomination, the 20 Pence Piece. As most collectors are aware, it was in fact not a new denomination, but a recreation of the Double Florin which was issued under Queen Victoria from 1887-1890. This coin had many sides and the public immediately liked it. The Royal Mint issued a small quantity of these coins in Sterling Silver Proof but they were double the normal thickness and are called a Piedfort. This is the first Piedfort that the Royal Mint allowed collectors to buy and has proved to be very popular. They are struck in Proof Sterling Silver and come in a blue Royal Mint case of issue.
In 1996 the Royal Mint did something they had never done before. They issued a Proof Set of the then-current 1996 coins but, every coin was struck in Proof Sterling Silver. You have the 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p 50p and £1 all struck in Proof Sterling Silver. Here we present the 20p.
In 2019 The Royal Mint allowed British Gold Sovereigns to be struck in India, with an ‘I’ mint mark. The last Monarch to allow this was King George V in 1918. The Mint has packaged them with a certificate calling them Bullion but they are certainly Specimens that look much like proofs. They are housed in nice official display cases. The coin is sealed in a card which is also its guarantee from the Royal Mint that it is genuine and of the same standard as a British Sovereign. It is the first time that we have seen them in the Royal Mint package, the coins were made in India. You have a current gold coin with the Queen’s portrait with the Indian mint mark. We have never seen them like this before. We bought all that the dealer had for sale, it was a good price, so you have a good price, that way everyone is happy.
The British Gold Sovereign was first issued under King George III as a replacement for the Guinea series. Each coin weighs just under 8 grams and is struck in 22ct Gold. Here we are offering the Jody Clark Sovereign Sovereign by type rather than by date.

A dealer we know broke up some Royal Mint 2009 all Silver Proof Sets for the Kew Gardens 50p. We were able to buy the rest of the sets at a most reasonable price, which we are now passing on to you. There were six (6) sets, so there are just six of each of the following Sterling Silver Proof coins. Here we present the £2 in its Royal Mint Protective capsule, at this price it is well worth thinking about…
