Elizabeth II, 50 Pence 50th Anniv of D-Day Uncirculated, 1994

1998 Rank-Broadley 50p Brilliant Uncirculated. In 1997 the Royal Mint reduced the size of the 50 Pence piece. In 1998 they introduced a new bust of the Queen for our coinage, it was done by Ian Rank-Broadley. This coin is difficult to get and many collectors are missing it from their collections. We have managed to find a small group in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and now offer them to you. Each coin has the new portrait of the Queen on one side and a seated Britannia on the other. It is the first coin of the new series with the Rank- Broadley bust of the Queen. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and quite difficult to get.

The Maldives, a nation of many islands, joined the Royal Mint’s series of crownsized coins to honour the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations in 1996. The Maldives are in jeopardy of disappearing due to the rising oceans, one day they might just not exist. You have the United Nations building in New York with the 50th Anniversary emblem on one side and the arms of the Maldives on the other side. Unfortunately this Royal Mint series really didn’t take off, so today these crownsized Rufiyaa coins are difficult to find. All our coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and are now some 22 years old.

One of the most interesting coins of the Decimal series is the 10 Pence pieces, especially the old large-sized coins. The first Decimal 10p was introduced in 1968, replacing the two shilling coin in preparation for decimalisation in 1971. It features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse. Today you get the small-sized 10 Pence in your change, as this large-sized coin has not been made for over 16 years.
