In 2013 the Royal Mint issued its first-ever £10 Silver Britannia, a huge 5-ounce coin. Britannia is shown wearing a Corinthian Helmet holding an owl on her knee, it is the symbol of intelligence. She is sitting on a chair holding a trident, but there is one little problem. She is dressed or partially dressed in an old-fashioned way. That means that one of her breasts has been left exposed. The Ian Rank-Broadley bust of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse. The first release of this large silver coin was sold to a marketing company in the United States, which had them slabbed. This preserves the coin from getting fingerprints, authenticates the coin, and grades it. They graded the coins (£10 face value) as being Proof 69 out of 70 and better yet they are Ultra Cameo, which is about as good as you can get. The quality is outstanding. In the slab it is a large and handsome presentation piece, we can see them displayed in the slab on your mantlepiece. Anyone who sees it will be impressed, how could they not? A huge beautiful Britannia in silver in an impressive display case and the price is right. Originally sold by the Royal Mint at £420.00. Coincraft’s price is just £295.00 which saves you £125.00!
The Royal Mint has been issuing the one-ounce Britannia with oriental decoration. They haven’t been advertising it, we usually get some from one of our wholesalers. I have always thought that it is a beautiful coin and the ones we were allocated have always quickly sold out. Now we have some of the Oriental design in Proof condition and are they beautiful. We have just 53 pieces of the 2018 Oriental Design Silver Britannia in Proof condition. All the coins have been slabbed and once they are gone, they are gone. I think they are beautiful and no collector should be without one. But that won’t happen as we only have 53 pieces in stock. Don’t miss out on them…
Last year the Royal Mint issued a silver Britannia. But what most collectors don’t realize is that they also issued a silver Britannia with dogs countermarked on the edge. This was for the Chinese year of the dog. Both our supplier and the Royal Mint have sold out. The coins have £2 face value and are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition containing one ounce of pure silver. If you look on the edge of the coin you will see five small dogs countermarked on the edge. This could be a sleeper, the countermarked Britannia we had last year quickly sold out and we have been unable to get any more, so please be warned...
Following on in the Royal Mint’s tradition, it has issued a New 2020 Silver Britannia which has been issued with the Chinese New Year privy mark on the edge. Each Silver Britannia contains a full ounce of silver and in the past, these special countermarked pieces have quickly sold out and we have not been able to replace them. It seems that once sold by our wholesaler they are gone. We managed to secure a limited amount of pieces with the countermark on the edge for the Chinese Year of the Rat. The coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and the first time we have been able to offer them. Supplies are limited and we don’t know if we will be able to get any more.
We are offering you the beautiful 2021 Silver Britannia in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each 999 fine silver coin contains one ounce of pure silver. It was issued by the Royal Mint and is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
We have just had our first supply of the NEW 2020 Silver Britannia. Each coin contains 1 ounce of pure silver, 31.1 grams, is in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition, and has a face value of £2.00. A beautiful and most reasonable series and one that you can add to your collection at a realistic price.
The Britannia silver series is usually only available in Proof condition, except for the one-ounce silver. But in 2006 the Royal Mint issued the 1/10th Silver Britannia in Uncirculated condition. As far as we know, this is the only year that they issued this coin in Uncirculated condition. So it is a Very Important type coin. This is a special coin. First, because it was only issued for one year and secondly and most importantly because we can sell it for such a cheap price. Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and struck in Sterling Silver, they only ever issued this coin in Uncirculated for one year. So it is a Very Important type coin. You can have this 1/10th Britannia only issued in 2006 for just £8.95. At this price, it really is a Special Offer!
The 2016 Silver Britannia’s are certainly something Special. Firstly the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II has changed and she is now more mature. Also the quality of the silver being used is also different. While you still get one ounce of pure silver, they are now struck in four nines silver i.e. 999.9 and not 925 or Sterling Silver. This was done to placate the buyers in the Far East who want only pure silver coins with a pebble-dash surface. The coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Add one or more to your collection for a great price! The limit is 3 coins per collector at this price.
