Set of 6 proof commemorative medals issued in 2015 to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. Consisting of one 14 ct gold medal weighing 7 grams and sized 22.5 mm. This is recreated from the original 19th-century medal depicting Sir Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington and on the reverse the statue of a heraldic lion with the right paw on a sphere in front of a silhouette of the Lion's Mound at Waterloo Battlefield in Belgium.
The five bronze medallions have the effigies of George, Prince Regent; Napoleon Bonaparte; Emperor Francis I; Tsar Alexander I and King Frederick William III and are struck in bronze and sized 36mm.
Housed in an informative fold-out card folder with details of the battle and the key characters involved. The medals are set into transparent plastic holders so that both sides can be viewed.
