Tristan da Cunha, 70th Anniversary Battle of Britain Crown

In 2010 the world celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, one of our most important victories during World War II. ‘TDC’ or Tristan da Cunha honoured this event by issuing a rather attractive and important Crown. You have H.M. the Queen on the obverse and a battle scene on the reverse. There are three airplanes fighting it out in the sky over Britain, to the left is a full colour British Flag, enamelled. This crown sized piece has been gold plated, struck in proof condition and then placed in a protective capsule to protect the finish of the coin. As our supply is not all that great, it could be the last time we can offer them. Beautiful and priced to please most collectors, but supplies are limited.

Picture of Tristan da Cunha, Crown (William & Catherine)

Tristan da Cunha, Crown (William & Catherine)

This handsome crown was issued on the 29th of April 2011 for the wedding of Prince William to Catherine. You have the conjoined busts of the happy couple facing right with his Grandmother, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. These are most interesting crowns issued by the small island of Tristan da Cunha, in the most remote South Atlantic Ocean. Each crown is gold plated and individually numbered on the crown itself. The original mintage was 50,000 pieces and we believe the original issue price was £14.95. Each crown comes in protective capsule and our price is just £9.95, which is quite a bargain. Limit three per collector!

Picture of St. Thomas & Prince Scarce Crown

St. Thomas & Prince Scarce Crown

In 1985St. Thomas & Prince issued a cupro-nickel crown or 100 Dobras to honour their 10th anniversary of Independence. It is a small and fascinating island, however, getting coins or banknotes from there is almost impossible. Two banknote dealers who went there were put in jail accused of money laundering. So this Crown is even more interesting and important. I think it is the first crown we have had from St. Thomas & Prince. You have an outline picture of the island on one side and the coat of arms on the reverse with two birds holding it up. A most unusual and difficult crown to find, in fact, most of this country's coins are difficult to obtain...

Picture of George II, Sixpence Fine

George II, Sixpence Fine

This Sterling Silver Sixpence was issued by King George II in 1757 and 1758 which means that it is now 260 years old. The obverse has the mature bust of the King with long flowing hair and in a suit of armour. The reverse has four sets of crowned arms, England, Scotland, Ireland and France. He didn’t forget that we once owned part of France. The coins we offer are in Fine or better condition. The Sixpence is often used at weddings to bring good luck to the bride. Nice coins with a lot of history, Fine or better and very competitively priced. They would make an excellent wedding gift…
