World War II Collection

The 08 May (also known as V-Day) is the day on which we in the UK commemorate the ending of World War II. However, as many of you may know, 08 May was not the official ending of the Second World War. That's when the war ended in Europe...

World War II officially ended when U.S. General Douglas MacArthur accepted Japan's formal surrender aboard the U.S. battleship Missouri on 02 September 1945, 76 years ago today. Well, since it was a World War, and since we found many World War II items while stocktaking last month, we thought it might be a good idea to mark the occasion by presenting our collectors with a World War II Collection divided into British CoinsWorld CoinsBanknotes, and Medals.

In this collection, you'll find numismatic items minted from 1939 to 1945 from many of the countries that participated in the war, as well as commemoratives hounouring key figures and events of the war.
