Uganda, 100 Shillings (White Shark) Silvered Proof

We have another two very large sized crowns or 100 Shillings from Uganda to offer you. They are part of their ‘Man Eaters’ series. They are large crownsized, heavily silver plated, in Proof condition with a full colour photograph and come in protective capsules. The two man eaters are: Killer Whale and the Shark. The obverse of each has the Ugandan coat of arms supported by two birds. The first time we have been able to offer these two and if you have bought and enjoyed the other pieces from this series, you will love these. We were able to find some listed on Ebay but they wanted $62.50 each for them. You will find our prices much more collector friendly. But supplies are limited and at our prices they will sell out quickly. Here we present the White Shark Silvered Proof 100 Shilling.

Uganda, 100 Shillings 'Man Eaters Anaconda' 2010_obv

Uganda, 100 Shillings 'Man Eaters Anaconda' 2010

From the Bank of Uganda we offer this large sized 100 Shillings issued in 2010 as part of their Man Eaters Series. On one side is a full colour picture of an Anaconda and on the reverse is the coat of arms of Uganda, an animal and a bird holding up a native shield with spears. The dealer who originally bought these 100 Shillings thought that they were silver, when in fact they are just heavily silver plated. They are in Proof condition in a protective capsule. The price is more than right and the last Anaconda was in the Peruvian Amazon.

Set of 3 Uganda Crowns with Bears_obv

Set of 3 Uganda Crowns with Bears

Each of these beautifully silvered 100 Shillings was issued in 2010. On one side they have the arms of Uganda and on the reverse a full-colour photo of a Man Eating Bear! We had never even seen these coins until Phil bought this small group. They are extra big and look like solid silver but in fact, are silver-plated. Each comes in a large-sized protective capsule, so you can see both sides of the coin. You get the Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear and Black Bear, which we think is the complete set. These are so large and beautiful that when you lay them out together it is most impressive. You can own all three extra large silvered crowns for a special price. At this price we hope you are impressed, Britain’s Coin Shop has done it again.

Vatican, 2 Lire (Holy Year) 1958 Brilliant Unc_obv

Vatican, 2 Lire (Holy Year) 1958 Brilliant Unc

Citta del Vaticano, or Vatican City, issued its own coins up until 2002 when it adopted the Euro. These Aluminium 2 Lire coins (KM.50) were issued in the name of Pope Pius XII in 1958 and were the last of their type issued since he died in October 1958. The coins are low mintage with only 30,000 being struck. They have the crowned shield on the obverse and on the reverse the figure of Fortitude standing with a lion at his feet. Even better, they come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and are now nearly 65 years old and rather difficult to find.
