Straits Settlements, Edward VIII Cupro-nickel

This Ceylon Edward VIII piece is one of the more difficult to get in cupro-nickel. We know this better than anyone else, because Richard had them struck. We found it the other day in a storeroom, supplies are limited and all are Uncirculated.

In the past we have offered these two British World War II War Medals. But as they usually come from overseas the quality was alright but not all that great. We were recently offered from one of our contacts in Scotland a group of these War Medals in Brilliant brand new condition. We couldn’t believe it when wesaw them, they were brand new condition and as bright as the day they were struck. Here we present ‘The War Medal’ with the crowned bust of King George VI and the red, white and blue ribbon. We believe that they were bought directly from the Ministry of Defence and that is why they are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Obviously made for the War and just put away and forgotten. These are fantastic; the quality is the best that I have seen. You can have these Brilliant Uncirculated medals. We have never seen them so good and I might never see them this quality again. These are very interesting pieces from the 3rd to 2nd Century B.C. We bought a dealer's entire holding of this beautiful Ring Money. Some people say they could go back as far as 800 B.C. but we believe the dealer, who said ‘they are only 3rd-2nd Century B.C.’. It’s thought they were used as a medium of exchange, before the actual issue of coinage in this area. Their size is approx 12-18mm and have been professionally conserved. PRICE IS FOR ONE PIECE ONLY
